The best thing about the language of great scholars is that they can't be mistaken for something else but that authors own language. This is true for great writers from the East to the West. Their language takes us places where we never go in our minds if we don't read them. Reading and writing has always been the activity, with the most human connection. In the age of Ai where everything has to be uniform reading and writing and the love of languages and art must endure as human forms. Take back your love for the written word, and work together to keep writing.

In Islam the word 'Nafs', is taken to mean inner consciousness, which reaches out from turmoil to find peace and contentment in being guided. Writing is a form that keeps the author free from inner strife. Great poets, scholars and authors such as al-Jawzi, Rumi, and al_Ghazali travelled, read widely and wrote profusely.

** Reading in different languages ***

The nafs is treated by most scholars and mystics as having a base nature that one trains. Which is why from a young age reading and writing is known to shape ones nature and intellect. We live through words and experiences, our language is a reflection of how we see the world around us. It becomes a mirror of our self. When we developed readsocialsocial and our draft deck designed around multiple langauges, we wanted to bring this love of language and the written word to fruition in the digital landscape. A large part of human written works are being destroyed to make way for AI models. (see) No one wants this to happen, for human writing to disappear. Which is why we are glad that the 'print is dead', mantra is proven wrong time and time again.

Social is first and foremost a drafting platform, where you can interact with different content (mostly in essay form) and even some open source classics and modern works. We want to make translation work and drafting easier through collaboration. Which we hope in turn helps you find your language and voice once again. We even encourage (uploading) handwritten works so that you could easily work in both the digital and handwritten medium together.

Currently there are three langauge specific modes to choose to work from and we hope to add more soon. As for our first choice to work with Thaana, readsocial is hosted in the beautiful islands of Maldives. Where Dhivehi (written thaana), is the native language. It is a young language with a small subset of modern borrowed root words from other world languages. Thaana is not a difficult language to grasp, and most naysayers of Thaana point only to difficulty in managing the script digitally as the most frustrating aspect of it. Luckily a lot of good work is being done to bring the langauge to the AI and digital domain. This in turn creates a hitherto unfound opportunity to bring Thaana classics into other languages. This was one the main original goals of including thaana, and the reason we aimed to keep Thaana as a first class citizen on Social.

Our goal is to create a platform where speakers and thinkers in different languages can interact with each other through literature that we all find familar. We soon hope that translations and orignal works submitted to the site will find new life in many different langagues. Our next goal is to add Indonesian, Arabic, Hindi and Mandarin to our list of languages.
